Addie's Angels NFP
Meet The Team
Founder: Adelyn (Addie) Schuch
Our Founder, Addie Schuch, has always maintained a philanthropic spirit and a service-oriented life style. When a family member was impacted by Epilepsy, she decided to swing into action. The creation of Addie's Angels NFP stems from her desire to bring awareness to Juvenile Epilepsy and the many seizure disorders that stem from this neurological condition. In addition to raising awareness, it is Addie's goal to raise proceeds for research into various medical testing devices used to diagnose and treat those that suffer with Epilepsy. Addie is currently an undergraduate honors student at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ majoring in Economics with a minor in Spanish. She is from Illinois and enjoys exercise, weight training, health management, travel, and reading in her spare time. Thank you for visiting this space!

President ~ Judi Schuch

Thank you for visiting Addie's Angel NFP. As President of this organization, it is my honor to bring awareness to Juvenile Epilepsy and various types of seizure disorders. Neurological disorders vary in spectrum and arise from all sorts of conditions or events in one's life. While some families experience benign or rolandic circumstances, there are thousands of families across this country that suffer with serious and debilitating forms of Epilepsy. It is our goal to improve the protocols associated with an important neurological test called an electroencephalogram ("EEG"). An EEG is a safe and painless test that looks for changes in the brain's electrical patterns that relate to seizures. It can be performed in a hospital or an at-home setting under various forms of electronic monitoring. At-home testing is extremely cost-prohibitive and cumbersome for the patient. We want to help improve the process associated with gathering this valuable medical information. Originally from Woodstock, Illinois, I attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, the American Institute for Paralegal Studies based at Loyola University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Law, formerly The John Marshall School of Law. With experience in large, multi-national litigation as well as small service industries, pro bono work and volunteerism has always been my passion.

Hello! My name is Zhaneta Roura. I grew up in a small town in the beautiful country of Bulgaria before moving to the United States almost twenty years ago. I am passionate about traveling to different destinations and trying new things. Living in several states has been a fun adventure, but today, Arlington Heights, IL is the place where my husband Adan, myself and our two boys, Adi and Gio, call home. I care deeply about our community. As such, our family remains very involved in youth sports and volunteering. I work with special needs students at a local elementary school, and the opportunity to support them in their quest for learning is truly rewarding and fulfilling. Our Founder, Addie Schuch, is an incredible young woman, who inspires the people around her with not only her energy and drive, but also with her caring and loving heart. She is making a positive impact by embracing her family's personal encounter with epilepsy and transforming it into a mission for spreading awareness and raising funds for the advancement of new treatments. It is a privilege to serve as the Treasurer of Addie's Angels NFP, and I am proud to support Addie's noble endeavors.

Hi! My name is Rachel Vander Wagen. I have my Bachelors Degree in Sports Management with a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Indianapolis, where I also played collegiate softball. I currently live in Washington, DC where I manage operations for a few professional sports team’s youth summer camps. Addie is a close family friend of mine, and I am very honored to be a part of the Addie’s Angels Board of Directors as the Vice President and Secretary. I hope that the work Addie’s Angels is doing can raise awareness for Juvenile Epilepsy and work toward contributions to fund research and treatment in the field.
